The onshore department covers all onshore oil and gas installations.

The Sofren engineering teams work both upstream and downstream on extraction, transport, storage, and processing activities. They are involved in high added value studies during the project development phases (putting the necessary production infrastructure in place: drilling rigs, pipelines, terminals, etc.).

Sofren’s expertise extends from oil production wells to processing petroleum products. Sofren works on issues relating to the integrity and performance of their wells, basing our expertise on studies related among other things to the activation or reactivation of wells (gas lift, water injection, etc.), integrity studies (corrosion, life assessment, etc.) studies on flare systems, the treatment of production water and product storage. The safety and reliability of the storage sites are a sensitive issue to which Sofren pays particular attention. Its competences and references are in line with this idea: customers are therefore advised on increasing their storage capacity, optimizing loading systems, upgrading their warehousing, fire prevention system studies, etc.

In the course of large scale international projects, the Group has built its engineering offering by including the entire project development, from the conceptual studies to the development of front-end engineering design. The Sofren teams are then mobilized to provide technical and operational support during equipment and services purchasing phases for our customers, EPCs or operators. Finally, they are involved in supervising the construction and .commissioning of installations. The level of expertise and specialization in some of our lead disciplines also provides the guarantee of professionalism and of results during revamping and modifications phases on installations.

Sofren has built its references on the basis of a number of major onshore oil and gas projects like TouatGaz, Timimoun, Norilsk, Jorf Lasfar, Fos Cavaou, Dunkerque LNG.

In addition, the entry of Sofren in the capital of Sofregaz in 2016 has enabled the company to consolidate its expertise and reputation in these areas, also incorporating a “major project” dimension to its portfolio of expertise.
