Joanna, Project engineer – Nuclear energy
« After I graduated, Sofren offered me a chance to put my knowledge as a project engineer (offers and methods) into practice in the field of nuclear energy. This experience helped me discover the management of international level projects, in the design as well as development phases. Communication and co-ordination have been the two most important aspects of my experience. They enabled me to explore various disciplines necessary for the proper execution of a turnkey project and discover their line of work. Today, thanks to Sofren and the special relations established with the client, I could progress towards a more specific aspect of project management: contract management, by being involved in the analysis of delays and disruptions that are a subject of complaints. »
Mickaël, Mechanical engineer - Nuclear energy
« After having completed a graduation project in the field of nuclear energy, Sofren offered me a project in the nuclear energy sector while supporting a client who is a major player in the nuclear energy sector, for developing detailed preliminary design. I am working with Sofren for over 3 years now and I have enriched my experience with various projects that allowed me not only to improve my mechanical engineering skills (handling equipment, design of special equipment, etc.). but also to complement them, by working on decommissioning or safety projects, the heart of the nuclear sector. Finally, by working in the Oil & Gas sector, Sofren is now going to help me expand my areas of experience. »
Hicham, High Speed Line project manager – Infrastructures
« After obtaining my degree in civil engineering, I joined Sofren as a consultant in infrastructure project management. Since then, I hold a position in the scheduling, control and co-ordination, while supporting a client from the railway sector, for the construction project of the East European High Speed Line. A job that requires a lot of organisation and discipline to meet customer expectations in the best way possible, while maintaining our commitments in terms of quality and lead times. Ensuring coordination between research and work, aligning and monitoring the actions of the meetings and improving the organisation and the image vis-a-vis the client and the companies, require competences not just at a technical and managerial level but also at a personal level. Growth at Sofren is a natural process, the follow-up is perfect over time and contact with the managers is constant and flexible. »
Arnaud, Business Engineer
« In just a few years Sofren has guided me in the development of my career. When I joined the company in September 2008, I wanted to consolidate my technical knowledge in civil engineering. Sofren thus offered me a project for the design of nuclear structures. After this first step, I had the opportunity to continue in the nuclear sector on a project that combined both professional skills such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering and instrumentation and control systems, and also a large part of project management, budget monitoring and research management. With this experience, I have evolved in Sofren and I have held the position of a Business Engineer since November 2010. I am now involved in the business development of our company in the southeast region of France. »
Patience, Automation Engineer
« I joined Sofren in May 2009. When I arrived, my aim was to hone my skills in several areas.
Today, I’m delighted to say that I achieved my aim by working on several rewarding projects with various clients in the oil and gas sector. I went on to broaden my skill set, particularly by working on nuclear energy, an environment that I wasn’t familiar with. I didn’t realize how complex it is. I’ve conducted technical studies and gained project management experience.
Looking back, my time at Sofren has enabled me to increase and expand my areas of expertise. »
